 | Anything for the pain of a tongue ulcer? |

Question: I have had tongue ulcers since May, and been to the ER and saw a Physian *** who gave me nothing for my pain or the tongue itself. I recently went to a Dentist and got something called Triamcinolone Acetonide Dental Paste, and although the ulcer is abit smaller, it's still there and extremely painful. The paste usually doesn't stay on for very long, since saliva washes it off.I have tried everything OTC that is there, and not everything at once, but things I have tried so far since May. Nothing works for very long and the topical or sprays numb it for couple of seconds thats it. It hgurts so bad, don't know what else to do. Anyone know of anything that would work for the bad pain?
Answer: My doctor gave me Kenalog in Orabase. You will still have the same hassle as the standard Orabase that comes off quickly but I have found that putting it on at bed time is helpful. The Kenalog seems to work much quicker than standard Orabase.I will add though that I believe you should be seeking another medical opinion! An ulcer should not last this long and it could be something more ominous!
