 | Dry skin or eczema? |

Question: For the past month or so (ever since it's been cold out and dry) my knuckles every so often get really dry, start burning and get really itchy sometimes and start to crack. The palms of my hands are almost ALWAYS dry so I do know what dry skin is, but i've never had my knuckles do this til this year. Is it dry skin, eczema, or a little bit of both?
Answer: It can only be eczema if your doctor diagnoses it so if you want to be sure, it's best to go see one. If it's not, then it's just dry skin. A lot of people get severely dry skin during the winter because of the cold weather and hot showers. Make sure to moisturize the dry parts of your hand as often as possible. Also, if they bleed, make sure to use neosporin instead of lotion because that will help prevent infection
