Question: my scalp started itching a couple months ago along my hair line. didn't think much of it first but now it's getting really bad. at first, i thought i was losing hair on this one spot along my hair line at first but it was so little that it was hard to tell. 2 months later, the area is really red, dry, and has some discharge (it sounds pretty nasty, i know) and obvious hair loss in that one area.i have a full head of hair, it's just that one spot. my main question is, will my hair grow back eventually????? or am i going to have this bald spot along my hair line for the rest of my life???
Answer: You really need to see a dermatologist. There are different scalp conditions that can result in what you are describing. But no matter which it is, the only way to restore a healthy scalp is to have prescription medication and/or shampoo from the dermatologist.
