I have baby-fine hair (longish) but my scalp is very dry now. I don't blow dry my hair anymore. I let it dry naturally. I drink a lot of water throughout the day. This doesn't seem to help my hair and scalp. I'm starting to get *gulp* dandruf and I'm itching more now.

Can somebody please recommend a really good hair conditioner that will give my hair and scalp some moisture? Head and Shoulders and the other dandruf shampoos haven't helped.

it sounds like you have correctly assessed that the problem is not dandruff. so: 1) stop using the HEad and Shoulders unless it feels like it is helping. 2) go to the drugstore and buy an "anti-pruritic" scalp goo =- ask the pharmacist to rec an OTC one - usually will contain a small %age of hydrocortisone. apply every a.m. to scalp and let dry.

also try to pick up some oily-based product for psoriasis of the scalp - there are several. I doubt very much that you HAVE psoriasis, but the products work well for dry ithy head, too. Apply it nightly.

both products should be used lightly and rubbed in well.

never apply either one less than 4 hours before you plan to shower.
