Question: Men on my Dad's side of the family have either no hair or a full head of hair and all are in their mid 50s and early 60s. I don't know how much of this could be genetics or stress related. I think it a little strange that this is happening at such an early age (22). I would be much less concerned if I was older. If anyone has experienced the same issue or knows of any solution to this I would be relieved/grateful for feedback!
Answer: My son started losing his hair at 17. Like you, his head itched a lot while his hair was falling out. We went to 3 dermatologists and they all concluded it was genetic, not stress. He started taking propecia and although it took couple of months to kick in, his hair completely stopped falling out. Propecia would be my recommendation to you, but see a dr. first.
